weaving futures

Tissage d’avenirs — Zukünfte weben — Zukunften wiewen –

Summer-ateliers to capture stories, taste talents, co-create knowledge, and find rhythm in up-cycled garments. Join the workshops, learn new skills and weave your future in for Esch 2022.

Open summer-atelier by an unbound collective of artists based in Sanem and Amsterdam to weave stories, sing talents, co-create knowledge, and find rhythm in up-cycled garments. Creative inhabitants of Sanem and beyond, are invited to join making tools and tunes for a pluriversal future that we share with the world during Esch2022.

At the invitation of the municipality of Sanem a group of local artists and the Disarming Design department of the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, organize a series of design ateliers that unpack shared futures through collaborative forms of making. Artistically developed by Belgium-based designer Annelys de Vet and produced by the Douri association in Sanem, they invite the community for seven engaging workshops; from video-diaries to upcycled fashion, from food traditions to rock songs, from Arabic tunes, to French hip hop meeting Congolese Sape and all captured in do-it-yourself zines.

With the output of these creative exchanges the collective aims to build towards a plural future, where several worlds can meet. This summer the people of Sanem and beyond are invited to join the ateliers and create together a platform for reflection and exchange around creative practices — to activate and present to the world during Esch2022.

Join the ateliers, learn new skills and weave your future in.
